Our Trainers

  J.R. Niklos- 6 year NFL veteran and Director of Sports Performance at Acceleration Naperville. JR started his football career at Ohio State and later transferred to Western Illinois University. At WIU J.R. was a 3 time All-American and led all D1 tight ends in receiving in 2001. He played 6 years in the NFL as a running back for Seattle, Kansas City, St. Louis, Oakland and Cleveland.

  Shannon Fitzhugh- Sports Performance Specialist/Personal Trainer at Acceleration Naperville. Shannon was a 3 year starter at corner and ran track for Western Illinois University. Shannon spent his time in the NFL with the Panthers and the Colts. He posted a forty time of 4.30 during his combine. Shannon also holds a Masters degree in Information Technology from Western Illinois University.


  Lindsay Owens- Program and Event Coordinator at Players Indoor Sports Center. Lindsay played lacrosse for Northwestern. Lindsay was a 4 year starter and 3 time national champion for the Wildcats. She was a member of the undefeated 2005 team and served as team captain in 2006 & 2007. She was named an Inside Lacrosse and IWLCA All-American. She is currently the head coach of Hinsdale Central High School's Women's lacrosse team.

  Doug Kluener- Combine Director at Players Indoor Sports Center. Doug played collegiate football and rugby at Wittenberg University. He was a 4 year starter on the rugby team and team captain in 2008 & 2009. He was also named the team MVP in 2009. Doug also spent 2 years as a professional snowboard instructor.

  Ronni Appenbrink- Combine Training\Event Coordinator and Marketing Director at Players Indoor Sports Center. Ronni was a three year starter on the Wittenberg University women's lacrosse team. She started her coaching career as an assistant at Lindenwood University. She is now the head coach of the Neuqua Valley High School women's lacrosse team.
